Is it true that RM are not exhibiting at BETT in Jan 2011? If so , can't blame them as its costs a whole load of dough.
where did you see that?

Due to no interest from cash strapped businesses I hear tell that the whole of BETT has been cancelled!!
Hmmmm!! just shows you how much the public sector props up a lot of the private sector eh!!
Can just imagine the tanoy system at Kings Cross announcing that the Private Gravy train has been cancelled due to "Essential maintenance works"![]()
My line manager pointed something glaringly obvious out the otherday (no I didn't pick up on it untill he mentioned it) - BETT was organised by BECTA, BECTA are no more...

Really, because I thought it was organised by EMAP Connect.
edit: clicky
BETT is organised by Emap Connect

No, BETT is organised by EMAP, with support from BESA and others, inc Becta, D for E, and other policy makers.

I have my doubts - RM were over at ITSE, so if they were canning shows, they would hardly start with the biggest and brightest on home soil? Some larger companies are certainly downsizing on stands though.

Interesting, RM are not shown on the list yet and a big firm such as they are you would think would be booked in with only 26 weeks to go! (I see Smoothwall are booked in on G85 again) but notice a lack of Edugeek on the exhibitor list....

I wouldn't take much notice over the list at this stage 90% of contracts are not signed yet. also due to staffing emap ar very over worked. As for RM not at BETT i doubt it but will ask.
Russ
p.s
As for EduGeek.net emap been very understaffed for last few months so contra stands like ourselfs are still being sorted but hopefully we will be there.

Well I asked and RM plan to be at bett 2011 hope that resolves that one.

I have just received an email from to usual BETT contact address via EMAP, so it look like we are GO! As for RM, if you look at their share page on Google here: RM plc: LON:RM quotes & news - Google Finance you will see they are having a dip, but it isn't anything that has not happened before, besides, not appearing at BETT would be worse than taking the reletively small finacial hit it would be to have a large stand. Let's face it, if you're not at BETT, you don't exist, and seeing as they were even in Denver the other week I don't see them hitting bottom any time soon. Admittedly, they have spent a great deal of money preparing for various BSF bids which are no longer going to happen, this has proberbly hit other companies a lot harder than it has RM.
