Possible bad News for hp hateing Sun lovers
A news piece has just surfaced which may strike fear and anger into the hearts of loyal Sun hardware buyers. According to the piece it is looking increasingly likely that Oracle will sell off the Sun hardware line to hp.
Oracle is likely to sell sun's hardware business to hp - The Inquirer
Aparently Oracle did not really want the hardware line to begin with and so have been looking at options to be rid of it since. On the plus side we may finally have an actual channel to buy rebranded Sun gear in New Zealand while it is still on offer instead of the rather neglectful state of their existing supply channels.

It could be a Tesco Special server for all I mind; I just know that it would have fma to tell me when a memory module is faulty and even telling me which one to replace. That's brilliant in my book.

29th August 2009, 11:52 PM #4 hmmmmm I wouldn't think HP would buy it and destroy the ideas, they will take ideas from Sun and there own and merge them. I have always been a HP Server fan anyway, and if Suns are too expensive HP are on my list for me, so in a way I don't worry too much so long as they don't mess with the S7000 range as that is just brilliant and unique to the market
