Intel slashes CPU prices
Intel has cut prices for some of its chips by a substantial amount. With reductions of up 48 percent, the company cut prices of its Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, Pentium dual-core, Celeron and Xeon chips.
*All prices per unit are per block of 1,000.

Hmm there is a mistake on that list E7300 will not drop its going EOL the E7400 has dropped to replace it, the list is also written in a really random order lol.
SCL have already adjusted our system prices to reflect last sundays price drop, anybody that currently has outstanding quotes should be contacted soon by thier account manager with an ameded quote.
Unfortunatly the £ is extremely weak against th $ pushing alot of tech prices up at the moment, huge oversupply of LCD panels and DRAM are the only things that are offsetting (slightly) the poor £ at the moment.

The list is ordered by percentage decrease rather than CPU family so it is not random. It's true the weak £ does take the shine off of many price cuts, we can look forward to any imported Eurozone or US goods being a lot more expensive in the future.

Pity the mainstream line of C2D chips (E8x00 series) haven't changed, as I wish to build a system with one, but do not wish to pay the current prices on principle (or more "frustration" that I should have done it in october when I had the chance at "reasonable" prices).

I don't think they really needed to adjust these so they didn't bother, the E7400 is close in performance now to the E8400 (lacks VT mind) and the entry level quads are a similar price to the E8xxx.
