    ChromeOS hacked!

As part of Google's Pwnium hacking contest earlier this week, George Hotz (a.k.a geohot) was awarded the top prize - $150,000 - for successfully hacking ChromeOS.

The exploits he used enabled persistent code execution across reboots (the initial exploit has to be delivered via a web page according to the rules of the contest). Google has already patched the vulnerabilities in ChromeOS v33.0.1750.152 which was released yesterday.

George Hotz, a well-known researcher known on the console hacking scene as "Geohot" won $150,000 for an exploit chain six deep on the HP Chromebook 11. A second participant is up for a partial reward on the same device. Hotz also claimed one of the four $50,000 Firefox exploits at Pwn2Own. (Source)

Of course Geohot was one of the people behind hacking the Playstation 3 with earlier versions of the firmware.
