*choke* the RTM version of Vista deserved everything it got. But that tainted it when it was sorted.

Ummmmmmm Sky has a storage mechanism (that few use) called skydrive. This is why they sued. It is nothing to do with mistaking the channel with the storage area.

There are definitely two rules in the UK and MS seems to get the much harsher set.
Sky operate in the same market - they are an ISP and run various online sites and services. So, as they have been using the term 'Sky' in relation to online services for longer than Microsoft and if they wanted to continue to own that trademark, they legally had to sue Microsoft to stop them using it in their products. If you don't protect your trademark, you lose it.

In this country, ask anyone on the street who runs a service beginning with Sky and the average consumer will say Sky the TV company.

I really doubt it'd be worth it to Microsoft to spend 14bn+ on BSkyB for a brand name.

Because anybody in tech has the same convulsive reaction to the word "Bing" as they do to an alarm clock buzzer. An involuntary shudder courses through your body and you find yourself making the sign of the three finger salute to ward off evil.

Always makes me think of Chandler Bing. Probably not what they were going for.

Err an Alarm clock buzzer is more like:

    MWEEEEP MWEEEEP MWEEEEP MWEEEEP MWEEEEP

Whereas I'd associate "Bing" with a Microwave..

I didn't meant the sound (didn't even think of it like that tbh ), just the involuntary overreaction I have to both that sound and to the word "Bing". Both make my skin crawl.

+1 for Chandler Bing as well. I always hear it as shouted out by Janice as well, which makes it even worse!

Just like Apple trying to convince them that they invented the word "App"

Actually, I find Bing Maps to be quite good. The angled view they have is really great quality.

However, I have heard that Microsoft have confirmed that Bing Maps will not be undergoing rebranding to One Direction. But no denial over a rename for Windows Defrag either being renamed One Piece.

As for the near future, there is speculation that to compete with the smartwatch they will be launching their own e-clothing line...called One The Bra!

Agreed. I find it better than Google Maps most of the time. And more up to date for my area! The imagery of our school is around 4 years old here, unless you zoom right in, in which case it is around 10 years old!

It makes me think of ( Goodfellas, Law and Order, The Sopranos ) where they say something along the lines of Bada bing, Bada boom

What is "Bada Bing"? What does it mean and where does it come from? I am English and confused!!? - Yahoo UK & Ireland Answers
