I'm not sure how much use / interest this one would get from others.... but I'd definately use it - so thought i'd list it!
How about an EduGeek iPhone app?
The app could either be free or paid for (I actually think, despite already "supporting" i'd pay for the app if it was feature-rich enough!). I came up with this the other night when I spent an hour or so on EduGeek using both the iPhone layout and the normal www (out of the two I actualy prefer the www one and wish the info bar to switch to iPhone mode would go away!)
I'd like to see the following features:
- Loosly based on the Facebook App
- Home screen to show list of recent messages like the www site. Facility to press/click on threads and view discussions etc.
- Show online users, facility to PM and view profile etc
- Search posts
- Create threads
- Create blogs

9th July 2009, 03:45 PM #3 I spend a fair amount of time browsing the site from my iPhone so this woud be good. I t would be lightweight but still offer more features such as being able to Edit your posts etc.

I am but it misses little features such as an Edit button for your own posts and none of the details show up when you go into someones profile.

21st January 2010, 09:37 AM #7 we use tapatalk on vbulletin (hibs.net - The leading resource for Hibs on the web for over 10 years - home).
The client (iphone) end requires a purchase, but it's free for board admins.
Apparently it's very good (i don't have an iphone
)
A blackberry version is due out soon.

21st January 2010, 01:54 PM #8 If there was going to be one for the iPhone there should be avalibility for Windows Mobile and Android as well as there are probably just as many members with each of these devices.
The big thing here is the framework access, to have these apps in a rational form there needs to be webservice access to edugeek content so that data can be requested and provided in lightweight XML rather than reproessinf the full html version each time on the device. It looks like the above solution does this through their own propriatary free plugin that must be installed on the site for it to work.
If this form of access (XML webservice) was made avalible then it would be much more likely that such apps would be created either by the admins or the userbase at large.
