    CGI/WEB Proxy Lists or Solutions

Hi there, we use an equiinet cachepilot for content filtering, it has a fantastic databse/catagory section but is failing at detecting Web/CGI proxy sites.

Does anyone know of a published list or email list of known sites, as I can add them into the negative lists using a bulk "cut and paste"

    Thanks in advance.

anyother help or recomendation would be appreciated.

I wouldn't try. There's no way of keeping up with all the proxy sites that pop up. The way we deal with it is that our web filter (dansguardian) looks at the content and makes filtering decisions based on that. Rather than simply looking at domain names/urls.

unfortunatley the cachpilot does not do that ...."yet"

It's just that it's getting out of hand and a way to get a current list might be a quick way to solve the immediate issue.

I have also been looking at the logs using sawmill, which has helped track offenders.

You could always consider investing a day in installing a smoothie with dansguardian and using that in front of your cache pilot..

Given the amount of time you're probably going to invest in log hunting, etc.. it'd probably be worth the time.
