Hi
I am having problems restoring with Backup Exec 9.1
Have 7 Tapes..
Want to restore a folder..
Had a tape in and saw the folder and tried restore.. restore failed and spat tape out.. tried next tape and there are no "selections" for me to choose from.. ran inventory and still no "selections"
How do I look for and restore a folder on tapes..
Many Thanks

The 7 tapes should be part of a media set or different media sets depending on how you set them up. If you work your way to the restore area, you should get a GUI representation on dates and times of backups with the relevant tape name on. Mine are usually LTO and then around 4 zeros and a number. If you click on one of them it should then bring up a file manager type directory listing, you can then work your way down to the relevant folder you want to restore. Click on the Advanced Options if you want to re-direct the backup else where. I am not sitting in front of my server at the moment so this is all in my head. There should be a backup wizard you can choose too. If you still have problems check the properties of your media in the media section of backup exec.
What was the error on the restore btw ?

I will need to catalog the tape if you want to get selections, iirc inventory only checks to see what tape is in the drive and some stats about it.
