Having one of those days.
Long story short, I need a way of changing the proxy address on a bunch of laptops and other machines which aren't the domain.
I've done something similar before in DNS, where I created a record which pointed myproxy.myserver.com to a different IP address of a different proxy, this seemed to work well.
I don't know how I can do it the other way round this time (I need to change the IP of the old proxy on the machines, to either the IP/Hostname of the new proxy)
I don't know much about PAC/WPAD, is there anything magical there I can take advantage of?
Short of visiting each machine, is there an easy way to do this?

18th May 2010, 04:43 PM #2 i am assuming they are not on the domain? you could remotly connect to registry and change the registry key as described in this support article How to configure client proxy server settings by using a registry file
or create a batch file using psexec to merge the settings in

gonna be hard I guess... is there any commonality between the machines at all? A shared drive where you could put a batch script to alter the settings, and just boot&click each one?
