    hp procurve and netgear switches

    hi guys

we have a hp procurve at the core and some at the edge network, they both talking fine they all have stp enabled, when i ping the switch i get a response within 1ms

when i have join our old netgear 7224 to the main switch i get random repsonses back from the netgear switches, now these were fine in till we installed the the hp core switch.

    any ideas

Have you chacked which one is being elected the STP master, if the priority is set up on the netgear one and a new elecion is triggered your traffic could be attemptint to find and allocate the best route to one of your edge switches rather than your core.
