Wireless Routing between two wireless routers

    Hello each,

I am just in the middle of setting up a test bed for networking and server tests at home. I unfortunately have had to set it up in a room that does not have the first router in (Wireless router 1 we will call it).

I need to connect wireless router 2 to wireless router 1 so the machines connected to network 2 can get out to the internet (probably so i can ask more questions here).

Router 1 has DHCP enabled, but i will be messing about with DHCP on network 2 so do not want to break the working network (network 1). This will i think mean setting up different subnets.

How do i go about getting the 2 routers to talk to each other wirelessly. I have tried setting up a static route between the 2 and pinging but did not get any response.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure what functions you have to play with but look for settings for one to act as a repeater or wireless distribution system.

Re: Wireless Routing between two wireless routers

If you set the wireless routers up as a wireless bridge that will connect the 2 networks together however if you do this then you can't also use them for normal clients.

Can wireless router 2 be setup as a client of wireless router 1 so the same as if it were a wireless laptop pda etc...?

    Ben
