    Extract 'espresso' from Cachepilot

our LEA phoned and said they wanted to replace our Cachepilot as it was 'broken' (Something to do with port forwarding -- i'll let you make your own conclusions).

Our old cachepilot has Espresso (July 07), now the new one wants us to put in an activation codehowever we stopped subscribing to updates in July 07 (decent software, lots of money).
I've currently got the old cachepilot under my desk with a different IP and just changed the shortcuts on the profiles, but its a loud old box and I don't really want 2 of these things in the school as 1 is bad enough!

Anyone know how I can get our July 07 stuff onto our new cachepilot?

When I mentioned this to espresso eduction on the phone they said they had no idea and directed me to call the LEA who said call espresso education and buy it again.

Espresso education seemed to have no problem with us accessing our old stuff, we just didn't get updates anymore obviously.

Erm, can I mention the total illegality of this? Cachepilot\Espresso content is proprietary, and any attempt to remove the content to transfer it to another non-Espesso approved device (by approved I mean one that has been registered with Espresso) is against the rules!
Please don't ask anyone here to assist you with this as we will get into trouble, especially as we will be in very close proximity to these people next week!!

Looks like I'm stuck with 2 cachepilots then unless we decide to fork out for the 2nd one for the minimum contract time then dispose of the old [broken] one.

Surely they must allow you to move content you have already bought to a REPLACEMENT device.

I'm pretty sure that the content on espresso is leased rather than bought. Some of my schools didn't renew when they had to pay for it and had there cachepilots removed from the school.

MS don't let you move Windows so I think the concept is not unheard of
