I'm trying to add the new kids account using the Winsuite Add user wizard. Grrr, awful program.
Anyway, i'm using a CSV, get to the point when it says when you click next the users will be created, I click next, then what looks like a progress bar appears and the program vanishes....any ideas?
Ta!
May be a little obvious, but have you checked the csv file is in the correct format. I have had some trouble (not with Winsuite) where there was an extra blank line or data in the csv file and when using it, the software thought it was data. As there was no actual data there it crashed.
Otherwise, maybe a reinstall of Winsuite?

Thank you penfold.....you made me look a little harder, found a name that had been repeated and had a missing piece of data!
Mwah...

grr, ok when i tested a user it took me to the wrong desktop. I've realised that they have automatically become a member of AD Users and not winsuites Pupils...how do i move them?
You will need to make sure that Winsuite has been updated. Open the Winsuite management console and check that the users are in the correct groups. When you add them to AD it does not update the Winsuite side, but if you go into the Winsuite settings it will force a refresh of users. You will need to logon and off the client machines to force a refresh on the client side.
Also, depending on the version of Winsuite (i think), new users are not automatically assigned to any group so you'll have to place them in a group and make them members of the group in AD before the correct desktop will load.

what a pile of![]()

I like the ease in which you can set up links. Looks like I will be kissing Winsuite goodbye soon but I will sort of miss it. It gets blamed for a lot of things.![]()
The front screen logon was the only reason I couldn't remove it from clients this summer. I was told that to do this would cause problems with pupils logging on and not being able to remember their username.
Considering they remeber this when they log onto their email and VLE I dont think it was a particularly valid point. OK some pupils need help with their spelling, but I dont think it would have been too disruptive.
