port forwarding problem
Hi
I have a cctv dvr which has the following changable settings in it's network settings:-
i.p:192.168.1.211
service port:37777
http port:80
I can access the dvr from any machine within the network by typing in it's IP but I can't get remote access to work from outside the network.
I have port forwarded 37777 to 192.168.1.211 in the router inbound firewall settings but this didn't work so I turned on dmz to 192.168.1.211 but still couldn't remotely access the dvr?
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Have you any other port forwards on
I have had problems when port forwarding from one port to another
eg port 37777 outside to port 80 inside.
Can you change the internal one to port 37777 .
This is usually the fix for this on my system.

Do you mean change http port 80 to 37777 within the dvr's network settings?

I would try setting it to a lower port number like 100 or 150 as your routers firmware may not be able to properly handle the higher port numbers when it comes to port forwarding.
You could set the internal and external to 80 just for testing purposes as if it does not work set to that it is very unlikely to work through that router. Your ISP may also be blocking randomly high ports like that in an effort to combat P2P traffic and other things that they find threatening on the web.
