Our intenal network is resolving lincolnshire.gov.uk to a 192.168 address. It needs to resolve lincolnshire.gov.uk to 62.172.185.1. where in DNS should i add a record to point the request in the right direction???? We are using Windows 2003
As you can tell im a total novice at DNS
Thanks in advance

4th July 2008, 11:06 AM #3 Make sure your forwarders in the DNS configuration are pointing to your next up DNS servers (in my case the LA as they provide our network to the outside world), in your case the LA or your ISP should provide you with the DNS IP addresses. You can do this by running the admin tool for DNS on your DNS server, then right clicking on the server name this will display series of tabbed configuration pages, choose the forwarders tab. Normally you would expect to be given 2 IP addresses to give you resilience in the case of their DNS failure.
