Before I jump in and start creating some excel spreadsheets on how our switches are setup - [ floor socket to patch panel, patch panel to switch etc ]
I was wondering if anyone has already done this and if so what sort of spread sheet or package would be suitable...? Anyone know of any templates ?
I am not talking about network diagrams here, just good old boring this floor port goes to this patch panel socket, this patch panel socket goes to this switch socket etc etc.....

21st May 2008, 12:25 PM #4 I've got this in Excel too, but it isn't great. I'm thinking of asking one of next year's GCSE ICT students to re-design it for me as their database project. That, or I'll actually draw out pictures of the switches and patch panels and label them that way.
