Does anyone know of any free software which I can put an a box a-la Ethereal which will log all web requests (and only web requests). I've configured Ethereal, but you need to enable several other protocols to be able to view HTTP traffic and the logs get bogged down with normal network traffic.

Here at Carrhill I have a Linux box configured as a bridge running ntop which kind of does this. However for your paticular problem I'd probably put a transparent web proxy on it instead and get web traffic logs that way. Because your using a bridge, no network changes need to be made. You can use ebtables and/or iptables to redirect the traffic going out over port 80/8080/3128/443.
