I seem to be having brain fade or just age catching up with me, but I have connected my wifes laptop to my wireless point in my office and it connects to the Internet no problems at all. Now I want to give it access to my shared printer (I've done this before and don't know why its proving such a problem now!). Can't seem to see any computers on the workgroup (yes, checked they both have the same network name, and IP is dished out by the router). I have tried pinging the laptop with the printer connected to it adn I can ping using 192.168.11.2 but not \\192.168.11.2 or \\mylaptop
I have Comodo firewall on the laptop and configured the local network as a safe zone, but no joy, turned off the network and still no joy.
Anyone have any suggestions?

How about Windows firewall? Try turning that off

Thanks, sorted now, turned out to be the Comodo firewall, uninstalled it, rebooted, checked the connection from wifes laptop to printer, now works fine, re-installed firewall, rechecked printer connection, still working fine, all happy now, just how I wanted to spend a rainy New Years Day :-)
Glad to see its not just me looking in on the forum on New Years Day. Hope to see the EduGeek stand at BETT on the friday, actually been allowed to have a day out (oops) educational career development session to do with ICT :-)
