Remote Installation Service with Broadcom Network Drivers
I am trying to RIS a Lenovo N200 but everytime i try and select the RIS image i get the error:
The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.
I have been reading the Broadcom website and researching but i have performed everything but nothing has worked.
I created a folder called $oem$ \ $1 \ Drivers \ Nic
I had this error on a computer and followed the normal procedure created the $oem$ and modyfying the riprep.sif file and it worked.
Hope you can help
Faza

Did you also drop the driver files in the 1386 folder on your Vanilla image.
Try that and then restart the RIS service.

Faza... that error message is the one i hate more than any other...
Sometimes you carnt get drivers which will work using the $oem$\$1\Drivers\Nic
Did you edit your riprep.sif file to read it?? and did you disable driver signing??
if yes then your stuffed.
Weve tried for weeks to get Nforce drivers to work also, theyre a pain!! even more are the intel pro 100ve's as they have differnt drivers depending on the actual machine and noone can come up with ones that work with RIS.
We found the solution was to fit the machines with a £4.73 edimax card from dabs.com, as they come with the realtek chipset, which is supported natively by windows. so they work lovely, but for a laptop, this might be hard :P.

I got this working the other week using the most recent drivers off the site. I was a good boy and put it straight on our wiki as well.
The broadcom network drivers need to be added to the i386 folder of the image. These use the B57xx drivers.
To ensure their is no interference from an older driver delete any B57xx.pnf, B57xx.sys and the compressed b57xx.sy_ files.
The inf file also needs to be edited:
Original:
[Manufacturer] %BRCM% = Broadcom, NTx86.5.1, NTx86.6.0, NTamd64
Revised:
[Manufacturer] %BRCM% = Broadcom.NTx86.5.1, NTx86.6.0, NTamd64
As always make sure you restart the service so RIS can see the new drivers!!!!
