Does anybody know how deep the Hp 2650 are? My cabs are only 12" deep. Will it take one?
Cheers

43cm or 16.9 inches.

Welcome to the world of cabinet switching. We've already swapped 1 cabinet and are swapping 3 more this summer for these giant switches. But then, it is worth it!
Fantasic.
Have you got a good supplier of cabinets?
Prism make nice cabs. Give www.wadsworth.co.uk a go as they're a Prism reseller. I've just used them for a load of gear and am happy.
You can buy direct from Prism but you need a credit card for their website. Wadsworth will set you up an account so you can use purchase orders.
...also if you're ordering a big'un, make sure it's flat pack. I won't make that mistake again. 8O
I use www.netbituk.co.uk - cabinets are fairly cheap and decent quality.

I got some prism ones via european electronique - delivery speed was excellent and they well built.
I used Comms Express for the first time this year for 2 server cabs.
Very quick delivery and reasonable prices.

I use Mills Ltd for my cabinet needs.
Leon - have you, or anyone else, put any HP 2626/2650s in Prisms? If so, what is the least depth you can get away with?Originally Posted by leon

Funny you should ask ;-).
My Procurves should be here within the hour, flooding down south delayed 'em. When they arrive, I'll try one and post. From the measurements given, they should fit fine. I ordered the 600 series 6U wall boxes. Can't fault the build quality, and they have adjustable inner struts which can be moved forward for extra room.
*crosses fingers*
Btw it was Prism who recommended Wadsworth to me.
I have my 2848s in the Prism 9U Two Section Wall Mounted Cabinet PI Range 600mm Wide x 550mm Deep. Its still a really tight fit and the rails have to be adjusted. I have to swing the cabinet open to plug in the serial cable if I need to use it! (At least I don't have to take the switch out though). Most of the HP range are similar depth.
Right the 2626s fit fine (and the 2650s are the same dimensions). There's not a tremendous amount of room once installed. With the rail in it's default position (if there is such a thing) there's:
2.5cm-ish gap at the rear.
6.0cm-ish gap at the front.
Not sure if I'll need to adjust these yet as the switches come with right-angled kettle leads, so the profile at the rear can remain shorter. One thing worth noting is the kettle leads here have come with euro plugs.
EDIT:
Woo! Out with the old crappy infrastructure!
Switch info here: http://www.hp.com/rnd/products/switc...s/overview.htm
Box info here:

They should come with UK plugs... All mine do.
Mine come with US style plugs![]()
