Editing Macromedia Studio 8 MSIs to add Product Key
We've recently bought Macromedia Studio 8 Professional with a site licence.
The CD contains MSIs for each of the programs (like Flash, Dreamweaver etc.) but if we allocate them to workstations then when run the software asks for a product key (which we have).
I am trying to edit the MSI in WinInstall LE 2003 to add the product key so that when allocated the key is already in place.
Can someone tell me how to go about doing this?
Thanks for any help.

I don't think you can as the key is not stored in the registry. All of the key settings etc are stored in %allusersprofile%\Application Data\Macromedia
Copy the licensing folder to each machine that you install Studio on and everything is registered. Make it a login script or something.

Re: Editing Macromedia Studio 8 MSIs to add Product Key
:) I had this problem with Studio 8 and it bugged me for ages, i was entering the CD key in upto 160 times, what i did may not strictly be "proper" but it works.
What i did was allocated the "Clean Machine" the Dreamweaver package that i had created earlier, i then ran the first snapshot to allow it to get all the details it required.
Once the snapshot had finished i ran Dramwaever which asked me for the CD key, i entered the CD key and clicked register later.
I then ran the second snapshot which completed the MSI and allocated it to the machines that had Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks 8 on this worked fine and i have never had a problem with it since.
Worth a try! :)
I did this in an RM enviroment but i believe it would still work in a vanilla enviroment.
