Rebuilding RM Mobile One laptops
Just a quicky for anyone that may know how.
Got a bunch of RM Mobile Ones (original type I believe), a couple of them have suffered from Curious Kid Syndrome and as a result are no longer bootable. No problem, rebuild time....
However, the rebuild disks I'm able to use from server are sans the relevant network driver (SIS191 if my memory serves me) and I can't find a suitable DOS driver to kick the build process off.
Quick look at RM's knowledgebase and a simple fix - need to get HSP29 on the server to get full support for the Moby Ones and provide the updated drivers for the build disks. So, download HSP29, attempt to install and it moans that it needs all previous HSP's to be installed for that to succesfully install itself.
HSP's 22 through 28 are present and correct, nothing previous. It would take an age (and seems fairly illogical to me) to install 1 through 21, and even if I had to do that, surely the installation of 22 thru 28 would have failed with the same problem? (being new, I didn't have that honour).
So, is there a way I can get that build disk going properly without the HSP, or a way to install later HSP's without having the above problem?
Any help gratefully appreciated :)
