206kbs upload speed

Terrible if that was the only thing being downloaded. However, if your bandwidth is tight and was being maxed out during the test the results are meaningless.
these were other test results at various times, the lunch time one is obviously at peak time but the other two should of been pretty quiet but still showing rubbish speed results??
today 09.03 Download Speed 161 kbps (20.1kB/s) upload 205 kbps (25.6kB/s)
yesterday 15.52 Download Speed 200 kbps (25kB/s) upload 206 kbps (25.8kB/s)
Yesterday 13:31 Download Speed 93 kbps (11.6kB/s) upload 154 kbps (19.3kB/s)
Those are poor results you have there. A 2Mbps connection should be getting a max 240Kbps download and typically a 30Kbps upload.
Depends on what your connection is?
What site did you use to run the test?

I agree it does, but even with a 0.5Mbps broadband connection you should be getting 60Kbps download and 30Kbps upload. I find a good website to test your downloads (in practice) is microsoft.com. They usually manage to fill your broadband to max capacity.Quote:

What kind of connection do you have? xDSL, Cable or some other thing? What is the bandwith and overbooking as stated by your ISP?
We are lucky to have a fiber-connection at 50/50Mbit (1:10). Yesterday I downloaded a 700+ MB movie from MSDN within a minute :D

Probably because the download is being hit by other users, and upload isn't.
