Lanview 4 works fine with Windows 7 although it's a little unreliable. Not anywhere near as bad as crap like iTalc, though.

I tried the link but I keep getting an error message saying the 'IE8 was unable to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.'

I have tried both the actual link and the download button on the right, both times I get the same message.

you may be falling foul of some filtering somewhere as the software is hosted on a windows live skydrive. I can download with no problems so you might need to download from another connection, such as at home!

OK, cheers, I will try from home to-night. I have just tried another computer that is off the filtering software and managed to download the file.

The only problem now is that when i try to run the file on the server, it says it is an unknown file type so does not open etc. Should i have another file to open this one?

Damn, they've been talking to me for nearly a year! I kept meaning to try the free version for ages. Oh well, looks like impero is the only real choice now. (not that any teacher wants this kind of software)

It's missing the .exe extension on the download. if i manually enter a filename in the save download box with a exe extension it works fine... you should be able to right click and rename file and add the .exe extension to your already downloaded file.

Great! Just ran the software when a message appeared stating that Symantec had detected a 'back door trojan' then at the bottom of the details screen it said 'Action taken; Cleaned by Deletion' Did you get this problem? Do we carry on now as the (hopefully) trojan is deleted?

It's a false positive which is due to the methods used to remote control the PC being very similar to that used in a hacking attempt. You either need to disable your anti-virus for the duration of installation, or add the software to a whitelist somewhere, i'm not sure how to do that for your anti virus. we don't have a problem with it and eset av.

You need to run the install again, as the bit it thinks is a trojan is pretty critical!
