    Ranger remote controll deploy issue

I'm having an odd issue with ranger remote on certain stations. In one room i have 30 PC's all identical hardware but two refuse to show up even though the client is installed and running, i've reinstalled Windows disabled the firewall and tried a different network port but nothing will get them to show. I also have one PC in a different room with different hardware that is doint the same.

Has anyone got an idea what might cause this?

    Cheers.

Re: Ranger remote controll deploy issue

    cookie_monster:

    Things to try:

    - Can you ping the machine(s)?
    - Is the Ranger Remote service defiantly running? Check in the system tray and/or check the client32 service is started.
    - Is the Ranger Remote client set to communicate on TCP/IP (assuming thats what you are using)? Check by doing Help->About and then Transports from the client32 window.
    - Has the machine just come out of standby/hibernation? This can interfere with networking, restart the client32 service to check.

Failing that talk to the support guys at Ranger, they should be able to help.

Re: Ranger remote controll deploy issue

Thanks for the reply Rob i managed to find a solution shortly before, i didn't realise it cached the IP's so when a DHCP client changed IP it remembered even if you had updated DNS.

    Cheers.
