    CC3: Use the force!

Is there anyway to force updating [or force connection]?

There is a network connection [wireless], but it doesn't finish connecting until just after it looks for updates. It's set to auto-connect [and connect if not available, iirc].

I was thinking of editing autoexnt.bat to hang about for a little bit [a couple of seconds max] but that's just going to make boot times longer.

This problem is with laptops, they're supposed to be wired while in the laptop trolley, but for some reason that doesn't work. It seems the network port shuts down when the computer does... Or the switch I'm using is configured badly [But I can't connect to it to change anything.].

If you are trying to install software packages, from Run enter this command

    Code:
    installrm
and this will start up RM App Agent which will (un)install any pending packages.

Not sure how to fix the actual problem of the wireless connection kicking in too late though.

installrm only seems to work with an sysadmin login.

The command will work on any account that has Domain Admin rights. Of course if you lack these credentials then this is of no help to you.

Do you have access to RM Communities? If so posts there (page 2 onwards looks promising) may help solve the issue:
