4th November 2011, 11:39 PM #1 Anyone using Impero?
I received an e-mail recently from Impero looking to talk about their classroom management software. Is anyone using it and have feedback? Much of what's on offer through them sounds a bit like stuff (with a cool looking interface) we should be able to do with Server 2008 if given a bit of time to learn it better!!

5th November 2011, 09:08 AM #4 Been using Impero for some time. Yes some of the functions are available in straight windows like password reset. Others like being able to unlock a windows 7 workstation and log off via the impero console are worth their weight in gold.
Impero does do a lot. In some ways maybe too much, but it's worth a demo.

5th November 2011, 10:43 AM #5 I evaluated various software in the same marketplace, including the previous version of Impero (they've recently released a newer version which I couldn't comment directly on)
I found the previous version of Impero to be quite slow in comparison to the likes of Netop, AB Tutor etc. I also evaluated Vision 6 and NetSupport School (which is the product RM Tutor or Stone Classroom Manager) is re-badged from. In the end we went with NetSupport School - it proved to be the most feature-filled / reliable for us. I wouldn't say they were the cheapest, but they offered the "best value" at the time.

5th November 2011, 11:52 AM #8 AB Tutor is on version 6.6 and Impero is on version 3114 so they may have fixed / added / changed since the comparison but both allow you to download and trial

5th November 2011, 01:47 PM #9 We use Impero, have done for about 3 years now.
I've posted many things about it on here, and rate it very highly - I wouldn't run a School Network without it.
Would be more than happy to demonstrate it at our School as I have done already for some people.

6th November 2011, 10:10 AM #13 Thanks for all the very useful comments folks. More proof of just what a brilliant tool Edugeek is so thanks again to the creators and ongoing management. As Fraggle Pete is at a fellow Wiltshire school I'll be looking to take his kind offer of a visit up.

6th November 2011, 01:48 PM #14 we're running Impero to and works quite nicely.
Only issue we've run into is our Windows 7 clients don't seem to want to load add-ons in IE9 so the impero internet ban doesn't work for users, but is fine if we turn of the internet for the group of computers (but thats a bug with MS and not Impero itself). The support and development guys spent a good deal of time on the phone and remotely connected to help us route out the problem.
