We use Ghost to image them through RIS. Works a treat for us, apart from Multicasting doesn't work on some machines, but we think it's some part of the setup in the switch thats stopping it.

If your having trouble with multicast, it's best to specifically set the multcast address ranges for ghost on your switches. Rather than relying on the switches to 'learn' them.
I spent hours looking at switch configs too.
Turns out with ghost solution suite, some broadcom nics don't do multicast with the PXE driver.
It finds the nic, joins the session and the when you send it nothing at all happens!
I just switch my ghost boot image temporarily to a broadcom only driver from normal PXE one when I do those rooms. Its slow, but it does work now.

I use LOTS of Optiplex models. please let me know which you are using and I should be able to help out.Originally Posted by StewartKnight
I have over 400 Dell OptiPles's with RIS and no problems at all, where are you adding the latest drivers to and also once you add the drivers are you restarting the RIS service??
Start -> Run -> CMD ->net stop binlsvc
then
Start -> Run -> CMD ->net start binlsvc
