    Classlink 2000

    hi

I've just started work in a school that has Classlink 2000 on a Windows 2000 network. I have a couple of questions if anyone can help:

when staff log on they don't get the Classlink Active desktop but this error message:

    Active Directory error '80070005'

    General access denied error

    /_Lib/Asp/desktopFn.inc, line 200

When I open the file and go to line 200 this is the code:

    Sub setupILS( objAds )
'Put the users IP address in the ipPhone AD property
    Dim strIPAddress

    strIPAddress = Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR")

    objAds.Put "ipPhone", strIPAddress
    objAds.SetInfo
    End Sub

This error only affects the staff - the students and technicans are all fine.

I have worked on networks with Active Directory, roaming & mandatory profiles before but the classlink 2000 configuration is a bit confusing. All the users have mandatory profiles that are stored on the server. When I open the profile folder of each type of user all I see is a "nethood" folder and the ntuser files - where are the other folders (i.e. desktop)?

    many thanks.

Have you spoken to the ClassLink support staff at all. They are very good and should be able to help you.

    Re: Classlink 2000

    Hi There,
I have been managing a classlink 2000 network for the last 3 years and think we had a similar problem a while back with staff, from what I can remember it was a solved by changing permissions for staff to the roaming profile. To answer your other question you can find all the roaming folders and shortcuts here normaly…

    \\(Your Domain Name).LOCAL\sysvol\(Your Domain Name).local\Common Folders\

    Hope this helps a bit.
    Dave.
