    ADMan Demo

Some of you will be aware that we are moving away from RM and onto a Vanilla network. Out of worry of the 'little' tasks falling to me, I created a small application named ADMan.

This is by no means meant as a replacement for all of RMMC's jobs, and I have no desire for it ever to be. It is meant as a nice simple tool to help carry out a few tasks that certain people don't have the appropriate skills to carry out on a Vanilla network.

Anyhow, here's a quick 2 minute demo video. If anybody is interested in using this please drop me a line.

    ADMan Demo

EDIT: I forgot to mention, click the blue boxes on the video to continue.

I presume this was the util you were working on ? If so looks good - would be good to see source code

Also with regards to the deletion would be nicer if say for example you had

    User One
    User Two
    User Three
    User Four
    User Five

You select User One, Two and Three for instance and click delete and instead of getting 3 message boxes saying user deleted, user deleted, user deleted that you have to click ok on about 3 times or however many times for each user that was selected would be better if say you enumerated through which items are selected, get each of the usernames that are selected and have one message box prompting to advise the user that they are going to be deleted, are you sure you want to delete the following users :

    User One
    User Two
    User Three

    Yes or no

They click Yes and it deletes all the relevant items ie AD Account, User profiles for related users etc etc

Also what does the reset profile option do exactly ?

Other then that looks pretty good

    Yes im interested

It does that already - the "user deleted", "user deleted", "user deleted" dialogues were there when I was testing and forgot to revert it back. As for the profile reset it just delete the copy of the roaming profile on the server for that user. Then when the user logs on again it picks up the default profile from the server. Not sure how much this is used in a Vanilla network, but resetting profiles is a daily occurrance here with RM.

There is no link yet, I'm giving it a good test on my network before I release anything, but hopefully it will be ready to roll this week. Already found a couple of bugs through my testing so need to iron these out, and glad I didn't give a download link while these bugs still existed!

Very nice... I'd definately be interested in a copy.

When you say here you want the files for the user stored, does the app create the folder at that time or when the user logs on?

It creates the files when the user is created in AD, before the logon. As soon as you click create, it creates the folder structure for that user and then pops them into AD.
