CC4 SR2 Update
has anyone here filled out the form to get CC4 SR2 sent to them early to install next half term next week?
I filled the form out when the E-Mail come through, but no discs have arrived, and I am now worried they will not arrive in time for me to install this next week.

I was at the RM seminar today and they said they had started sending them out this morning, so hopefully no need to panic.

28th May 2010, 09:02 AM #4 Does it give any indications (Update numbers? Release Dates?) as to what updates are required before SR2 can be installed?
I know RM have just released CC4UPD081 this morning but that's a post-SR2 update.

28th May 2010, 09:05 AM #5 I thought CC4UPD071 was the only pre requisit?

It is (unless you're going to completely rebuild machines straight after the upgrade but I'd deploy it anyway beforehand to be safe) but there are some issues in SR2 addressed by way of these additional updates, CC4UPD081 being one of them. You'll install SR2 then the updates.
The release notes explain everything clearly.

I think the synaesthesia means post SR2 Updates which are mentioned on a letter with SR2, which has now arrived.
The letter says CC4UPD080 and CC4UPD081 needs to be installed before updating or rebuilding computers.
The problem is CC4UPD080 is still showing as being in development:
CC4UPD080 Post SR2 Critical Update to rectify Package Deployment issues found in field trials of SR2
And sounds more important than CC4UPD081 which has been released:
Download to fix Computer Manager compatibility with Windows 7 computers, plus fixed version of RM Timed Internet Access.

28th May 2010, 01:32 PM #8 I've sent an email to my field trial person to ask. I don't want to install this if it's going to mean we can't update or deploy software!

More worryingly on page 21 if you want to update computers you need to install RM Updates Phase 1 which replaces PUDU.
It tells you to download this from DWN1676191 which shows an error page:
Unable to locate a document with a Content Reference of DWN1676191, DWN1676191.
Issue: This content reference does not exist or has expired.
I am planning on rebuilding everything to pick up UPD071 updated packages, but it still says that RM Updates Phase 1 needs to be installed after the SR2 Server Installation.

That's correct, if you want to update the machines rather than rebuild. You can still run them as SR1 however. RM Updates Phase 1 is a seperate installer and I installed it a few days after the SR2 upgrade so I don't believe that your network will be affected if you don't do it right away.
I think they're slowly approving all the articles for SR2 so I'd keep checking today and if not get in touch with RM.

28th May 2010, 02:19 PM #12 There's just been a post on RM Communities saying that they released the SR2 packs so that they would arrive before schools close for next week. As a result, some schools have received them before they've finished all the downloads and tech articles.

28th May 2010, 05:05 PM #13 All good. And yeah those are the two updates I was referring to
Still annoyed at the lack of station-renaming. Quite pleased with performance.

RM Updates Phase 1 now has an article, but is still not yet available. Good job I am rebuilding everything anyway!
