Hi,
We are currently looking for a free to use network management tools that will send us e-mail alerts when a problem is detected on the network so we can resolve any issues before it becomes a problem for the staff.
We're specifically interested in printing i.e. out of paper, out of toner, jam, drum, printer name etc etc.
I have a found a free program called spiceworks which I hope to play around with later today.
So I was just wondering if anyone else knows/uses free network management tools on RM CC4 and their overall experience

I've played briefly with Spiceworks and it looks like a decent piece of software. If you're prepared to have a fiddle with config files and know a bit about Linux there's a similar application called Nagios that monitors network attached devices. We use it in our school and once you get it set up it's pretty effective. As it's community driven there's also a lot of customizable checks you can set up.
