I was just wondering what software you guys use for keeping track of when your equipment needs PAT testing etc - we have an old database somewhere that has records but is just an access database but isn't the easiest of programs to use.
I am trying to find something open-source (can't beat free!) and preferably web-based but not necessary have to be.
So basicly i am asking what software you guys use/recommend for this kind of thing
Thanks
Toby

Anyone?
Hi,
We use PatGuard. It isnt free and isnt web based but you wanted to know what people use.......
It doesnt seem a bad piece of software but we have only recently started using it.
Sorry couldnt be more help!!
Good luck.

I wrote one in house (not for school, elsewhere). It handles all aspects of assets, insurance levels, census and reporting, PAT records and certificates, etc.
We use Simply Pats.
Sure it cost us £280 or something around that. But in my opinion it was worth every penny.
Being able to download the results straight from the tester onto the software and produce print outs, certificates etc makes it all worth the money.
You can also get it to e-mail you reminders when things need testing, and you can do all sorts with it.

Thank's Guys,
Im currently thinking of creating one on a mysql database with a custom PHP front end -
powdarrmonkey - How did you go about making your's? is it run from a mysql database or similar?
Thanks
Toby

It's in Access, largely because it needs to be maintainable by the staff there.

Thank's - I am trying to avoid Access if possible but if i can't make mysql work then i will use Access.
