    Someone posted that they got it working and even provided screen shots of the workstations-but I don't see that post any longer. I have it working after a user logs in but not as a service, as an application in start up folder. I'd like to be able to have it start as a service so I can log into the workstations. I may try configuring the MTU settings because all I see is a black screen, (Aero is off)

    hit a stump though

    i have Ran this via cmd prompt or a shortcut to the exe

    \\server\test\Italc.exe \\server\test\installsettings.xml

    All it does is load up Italc.exe setup and i have to Click Next .. Which doesnt seem right as i assume it was automated.

    Paths are 100% correct ? Any insight Please.
    I never used an install settings file but according to the wiki you want:

    \\server\share\italc\italc.x.x\setup.exe \\server\share\italc\italc.x.x\installsettings.xml

    all the setup.exe for me does is start the Key config Menu.. and copys the key .. Dosnt actually install it for me

    But while i waited i made a .bat

    .BAT
    Code:
    XCOPY "\\server\share\italc" "C:\program files\italc" /E /k /I
    PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL
    regedit /s "\\server\share\reg1.reg"
    PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL
    "C:\program files\italc\ica.exe" -quiet -registerservice
    PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL
    NET START icas

    reg1.REG
    Code:
    indows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\iTALC Solutions]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\iTALC Solutions\iTALC]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\iTALC Solutions\iTALC\keypathsprivate]
    "teacher"="C:/Program Files/iTALC\\keys\\private\\teacher\\key"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\iTALC Solutions\iTALC\settings]
    "LogLevel"=dword:00000006
    that works perfect for my clients

    I use a very messy install script for each type of user (Pupil, admin, teacher)

    The teacher script runs the install twice, with different settings, this is intentional:

    Code:
    X:\italc\setup.exe settings.xml
    COPY x:\italc\CloseIE.exe "C:\Windows\System32\CloseIE.exe"
    COPY x:\italc\WebOn.exe "C:\Windows\System32\WebOn.exe"
    COPY x:\italc\WebOff.exe "C:\Windows\System32\WebOff.exe"
    copy "x:\italc\launch italc.exe" "C:\Program Files\iTalc\launch italc.exe"
    regedit.exe /s "X:\italc\REGISTRY SETTINGS\Italc.reg"
    mkdir "C:\Program Files\iTALC\keys"
    XCOPY "X:\italc\KEYS FOLDER FOR TEACHERS AND PUPILS\keys" "C:\Program Files\iTALC\keys" /E /R /K /Y
    X:\italc\setup.exe teachersettings.xml
    "x:\italc\Connection Patch\EvID4226Patch.exe" /L=50
    del "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\iTalc.lnk"
    copy "x:\italc\italc.lnk" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\iTalc.lnk"
    @echo Installation Complete
    @pause
    I replaced the start menu shortcut with one to this batch file, so it runs when a teacher clicks on iTalc master:
    Code:
    @echo on
    echo %COMPUTERNAME%
    if not exist "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\personalconfig.xml" COPY "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\PC\personalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\personalconfig.xml"

    if exist "C:\Program Files\Italc\Italc.exe" start "" "C:\Program Files\Italc\Italc.exe"
    taskkill /F /IM "launch italc.exe"
    :end
    exit
    I then have a central repository of config files so it copies the correct file for the room the teacher is logged on in.

    It may be a clunky way of doing it, but it works flawlessly on 500 clients, with about 30 teacher masters, and 4 admin masters and makes updating the classroom lists stupidly simple.

    heres my final Version for Clients..

    Made a test account with admin privs' , set the following for logon script

    Code:
    Set shell=wscript.createobject("wscript.shell")
    shell.run "\\server\share\auto.bat"
    ( after install REMOVED the account)

    The above runs the follow .bat file

    Code:
    XCOPY "\\server\share\italc" "C:\program files\italc" /E /k /I
    PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL
    regedit /s "\\server\share\italc\reg1.reg"
    PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL
    "C:\program files\italc\ica.exe" -quiet -registerservice
    PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL
    NET START icas
    This installs the Client and also copys the Public Key .

    The next Script i Use for Tutors . So they have access to every machine .
    Code:
    Option Explicit
    Dim oShell, oEnv, oFS, strDirectory, path
    Set oShell = CreateObject("wscript.Shell")
    set oFS = CreateObject("scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set oEnv = oShell.Environment("Process")
    strDirectory = oEnv("USERPROFILE") & "\Application Data\Italc"
    if not oFS.FolderExists(strDirectory) then oFS.CreateFolder(strDirectory)
    path=CreateObject("WScript.Shell").ExpandEnvironmentStrings("%UserProfile%\Application Data\Italc")
    dim objFSO
    set objFSO=CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    If objFSO.FileExists(path & ("\globalconfig.xml")) = False Then
    objFSO.CopyFile "\\server\share\globalconfig.xml", path & "\"

    any one having problems with the latest version ?

    I can no longer Do multiple Logins .. If i try and logon to every machine using a designated account the control software crashes and wont reconnect the the Italc clients untill each one has been reset ? ( using windows 7 as the master computer ) ( XP as clients)

    Also student show demo still has the same problem as before , where as the teacher needs to click there screen to update the screen on each client ( But the students demo shows up perfect on the teachers machine)

    any one else got this latest one installed ?

    I'm having the same problems with 1.0.10 including the issue of crashing the master and clients until reset. I also have an issue where the master app is closed and it locks the clients that are open, but clicking lock desktop, overview, demo full screen and demo window just doesn't seem to work correctly.
    created keys, master and clients talk to each other and the log off works great. Just blanks the desktop with no icons or task bar but mouse still available and moving.

    Any ideas?

    Also noticed 1.0.11 is available which resolves a locking mouse issue which I didn't seem to have a problem with.

    Ital Master Crashing

    Hi Brejen did you ever find a solution to the Master crashing after the splash screen. I have installed Italc in an ICT suite and the master just shows the spash screen then quits with no error message. I have setup the master on a different computer not in the suite and I am able to see the clients so they are working fine. The different computer is a different model to the ones in the suite so not sure if its a hardware issue......
