    Package Deployment

    Hi Guys,

    Looking for a free solution to our package deployment. Dont want to use the MMC for this on would like something else to do this, any ideas?

    Are you already running a windows server? There is a system for it already built into AD/GP which can handle most things.

    We simply have an "install" user that we can log in to each machine with that runs a startup script that can then run whatever install procedure we like. A bit fiddly as you have to log in to each machine (although we have the machine reset afterwards, so no need to wait and log out, and you could actually schedule an auto-login for, say, 8pm every day if you liked), but it is capable of deploying absolutely every software package, even if we have to use AutoIt to fake keyboard/mouse presses, which isn't uncommon with some crummy education software installers.
