    I created a script to do this but don't really know if it works

    Code:
    'Log on script to detect italc and install if needed

    option explicit

    dim objShell, objFSO

    dim strItalc, strSettings, strPath

    strPath = """C:\Program Files\Italc"""

    strItalc = "\\server\share\italc"

    strSettings = "\\server\share\italc\installsettings.xml"

    set objshell = Wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    set objFSO = Wscript.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")

    if objFSO.FolderExists(strpath) then
                    wscript.Quit
                    Else
                    objShell.Run(strItalc & " " & strSettings)
    End If

    set objShell = nothing
    set objFSO = nothing

    Wscript.Quit
    You will need to install on one client to get the installsetting.xml file but after that with this script in startup it should install on the others

    We have it set up here in two room and i'm looking at putting it in a third. Still experimenting with admin keys so that each teacher can only see the computers in his/her room but I can see all of them. If you would like any help I can share my limited knowledge

    Is this similar in features to RM Tutor?

    It looks very good from what I can see and very simple to use.

    We run it here and have been extremely impressed with it. It is installed on all PCs and teachers are able to use it in all the IT suites. So far all the teachers have been pleased with it and no issues have been reported to me. Considering I was looking at software costing thousands of pounds this was the find of the year!

    My script is pretty much the same as the one posted here but I also modify the registry to point the public key to a shared drive. This means that I can easily and regularly change the public/private key for security. The setting is located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\iTALC Solutions\iTALC\keypathspublic.

    I would like to be able to set up different keys for each room and me have all the keys set up on my PC but I don't think the software is capable of this.

    The keys should be able to be setup for the different roles i.e. teacher and admin using the registry but i've not been able to get it to work yet

    bit of a cludge but couldt you just set up say 3 shared locations with keys in alter the reg settings in room 1 to point to folder 1 and so on then on your pc have 3 reg files one that sets registry to look at folder 1 one at folder 2 and one at folder 3. Granted you couldnt see all at once but you could quickly flip between them by probably just closing the software running a key and reloading

    not tried this software but i have used similar methods before for other software

    Just wondering whether anyone has actually managed to package this up as an msi. I cannot get the service to register correctly.

    I've created two msi for italc, all you have to do is copy the keys over before taking the second snapshot.

    iTALC on Win7...

    Hiya Zag,

    For my benefit (I'm currently attempting to implement iTALC 1.0.10 (beta) - in a win7 based classroom at the moment, using an XP master, could you clarify for me how you achieved this, and what functionality of iTALC and WIn7 you had to disable or alter?

    I've found so far that iTALC appears not to like running as a service on non-standard ports (we run ultravnc too), and that the aero effects and UAC seem to cause ITALC a few problems too.

    I see your running iTALC 1.0.9 - from your screen shot, which wouldn't co-exist nicely with UltraVNC (for us anyway), but I'm glad to say version 1.0.10 allows the running of multiple instances of VNC, due to a mutex code change and also features a rather nice installer too

    Any help or advice you can offer, regarding running ITALC on win7 would be greatly appreciated zag.
