CC3 Application Wizard Help!!!!
Hi we are currently running CC3 in school where i work, i am having problems with the RM application wizard. It is installed on a workstation when i log on as package builder and open it, a message box comes up saying it is not a clean computer and i have to reset the profiles for Package builder.
I have reset the package builder user in the cc3 managment console and tryed doing it again and the same problems occurs. I have deleted package builder account off the workstation itself and that made no differents. I have also deleted the package builder account within the cc3 managment console and reinstall default users as stated on the cc3 knowlegde base website. When i logged on to the package builder again (new account, profile) i am having the same problem. I am out of ideas and need help.

Have you rebuilt the package builder PC? we usually do this after every package.

19th March 2009, 11:27 AM #4 We use a dedicated PC here for building packages and restore it using Ghost after making any package. Avoids this problem and dead quick to restore

19th March 2009, 11:32 AM #6 Without rebuilding i think you may get an error message relating to an unclean package, we rebuild between each package.
Once the clean machine was completely rebuilt we use build disk again to make new upto date image, so restore between packages takes 5 mins.

19th March 2009, 11:43 AM #7 Other option is to use VMWare, that way you don't have to have a station and it has a much quicker restore time!

19th March 2009, 02:23 PM #11 Check the station in the Management console. Not wanting to be unhelpful but get booked on one of their courses ASAP & get them to send you the manuals if you haven't got them, will clear up a whole raft of things.

We've just started using Virtualbox under Ubuntu to negate this very problem. We just revert to the original snapshot after each package build.

I concur, started doing this at a couple of schools on a more powerful machine and it saves a hell of a lot of messing around.

Yeah was doing this until I changed to 8.10 then or some reason I could no longer build a virtual RM machine, hangs at 'scanning for drivers'
Anyway, now I use a fast machine that restores in under 2mins so not too much hanging around.

23rd March 2009, 08:38 PM #15 The restoration to clean mode isn't normally an issue, getting it back to a useable state however is very drawn out |:
