    Wireless Network Points

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a wireless network point for use in a school hall so that staff can bring their own laptops to the school assembly and connect to the network?

    Not sure what to get.

RM used to recommend 'A' as opposed to B and G

    Any advice appreciated,

    Gareth

    Hi Gareth,

Do you have an existing wireless provision?
How many clients are you looking to support in the area?

Well to begin with between 1 and 5 at any one time.

We have no current wireless options and do not plan to have any further expansion - perhaps except to the sixth form common room (which may need two).

However I do wonder that once people see it more and more kids will want to connect.

    I have had the D-Link 7100AP recommended. - D-Link DWL-7100AP Tri-Mode Dualband 802.11a/b/g (2.4/5GHz) Wireless 108Mbps Access Point

RM push the sale of the DLink 7100AP and as we are still running an "unmanaged" system we do have a fair few of those devices predominantly running in 'a' mode for the laptop trolleys we have.

They work fine for our needs.
