Have you taken a look at LanView 3, we use it here and it's good.

Well I did give them an hour of my time at BETT to suggest new features for it. It seemd like a good package to me, especially if they've added my suggestions in by now

I highly recommend 'AB Tutor Control'. It can be found here:

I like Ranger does the job for us. I don't think LanView is ideal for teachers though. More of a Techies tool

I have recentely switched from ranger to impero, it is fantastic software, originally it look really expensive compared to the free programs you can get, but the free ones just don't give the same features or control that impero does, i have a contact who done me a really good deal on the software, if you want send me your details i will arrange for him to give you a call, talk you though the options, ajames@brecon-hs.powys.sch.uk

We use Lanschool for the teacher machines and for us we use DameWare mini remote control. Tweak the settings just right, perfect stealth mode. Never used ranger though, might have to check it out.

+1 for Dameware - we use this and we don't give the teachers any kind of remote capabilities.
(Most packages we find gives them far too much control over the workstations - they don't really need or want that level of control as they'd never use it here... they'd prefer we did it all)

+1 for abtutor, just upgraded to v6 and am amazed at the amount of stuff they've included! Their support is good too.
