    Name Resolving

    Hi,

I have 3 domains at school and my laptop is standalone.

Is there a way I can resolve all domain names on my laptop from these 3 domains?

Everytime I need to logon (VNC) I need to resolve the name on the server so I can find IP address and then remote to the desktop. It would be so much easier if I my laptop could translate the names.

    Thank you.
    Paul

On the DNS server your laptop points to do one of the following

    1. Forward on that DNS to the ones in the other domain. Then that into the other so its a chain. This will work but its a bad way to do it.
    2. Setup conditional forwarders on your DNS server your laptop points to.

    3 domains its a lot isn't it?

Yeah look up conditional forwarding as previously mentioned.

I would love to know why you have 3 domains, though.

    3 domains makes no sense ? - Unless it's 3 separate networks ?
