Bit of an odd one. Whatever I do, I can't get the volume control to show on the workstations on a CC4.3 network. All windows 7, so the RM Volume control is not allocated. Yet whatever I do (using CC4's Management console or GPO) I can't get the volume control to show.
RM's workaround is to make a shortcut to sndvol on the desktop or start menu (SERIOUSLY?). I think there must be a proper method. Any takers?
Add this registry:

The RM Volume App isn't compatible with Windows 7. I've solved this before let me dig out how...
This is the official response I got... bear in mind it's for volume, network and power so edit the reg as required...
* Copy a registry policy
* Copy and paste the text below the line , into a blank notepad document, and save it as VolumeIcon.reg.
* Edit the new policy, and add the VolumeIcon.reg file as a custom setting.
* Assign the new registry policy to a test user account, and then log them onto a Windows 7 laptop. You should now see the notification icons on the task bar, including the battery, default Windows volume control, and the network icon.
*If you are happy with the results this provides, please add the showbattery.reg file to your other user registry policies, or globally via the All Users registry policy.
The original topic is here so will probably help...

Yeah, I know that much - hence why this was already unallocated from all stations. Just seems daft that it doesn't appear possible to get the windows one back!
I just updated my post with the reg edit RM gave me. Hope it helps.
