Hi All
Is there a RM Smart Cache 2 Mac Client ?
Thanks
Andy

I believe you need this:
http://www.rm.com/Secondary/Products...?cref=PD189791
Any generic ident client will work on mac/*nix. I used this one to set up our only mac and it works a treat: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/mo...564&vid=275508
Hi Bizzel,
Thanks for the info on the ident client.
I have another question about smart cache, in "RM SmartCache Security Configuration" there are different logging levels:
(1) Enabled without security
(2) Enabled with security
(3) Disabled
I suspect the enabled without security logs but will not inforce user/computer level security setting (everyone gets the default policy).
My question is, if i enable "Enabled with security" and i have any users without the ident client will smartcache give them the default policy or will it simply disallow them any internet access at all ?
Thanks in advance for any help
Andy
I had to wrangle with those settings a while back. Enabled *without* security will still log IDENT responses but it will allow traffic for anyone who can't be authorised. Enabled with security puts a stop to that and anyone without smartcache client or any IDENT client will have no access at all. If you enable that, be sure to update your domain first as that gave me a few problems.
Also, a word on smartcache client - since it pulls its proxy settings from IE, if you change your proxy on a client, you'll need to restart the smartcache client process before it'll work.
Edit: As far as I know, enabling security has no effect on the filtering. I think it just controls IDENT-based blocking.
