NetOp Alternative

We used to use NetOp School 6.0. However, I just tried to update this to a later version which would work under Windows 7, and although they still provide downloads for older incremental releases they won't provide a working serial, which basically seems to mean a new licence for their new product NetOp Vision. Is it worth it, or is there something else...?
