MRBS Unknown User LDAP Error
New poster...I have read all the MRBS/LDAP threads I can find, but I can't seem to get rid of the "Unknown User" error.
This is my ldap config:
$ldap_host = "xx.xx.xx.xx";
$ldap_v3 = true;
$ldap_tls = false;
$ldap_base_dn = "ou=ON,dc=xxxx-xxxx,dc=xxxxxxxxx,dc=gc,dc=ca";
$ldap_user_attrib = "uid";
$ldap_get_user_email = FALSE;
$ldap_email_attrib = 'mail';
$ldap_group_member_attrib = 'memberof';
$ldap_unbind_between_attempts = FALSE;
$ldap_debug = TRUE;
Should the above work?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

is your base dn right? also the user attribute should be sAMAccountName surely?

Hi Geoff, thanks for the reply!
I don't know if the base dn is right...I am pretty new to LDAP. I changed the user attribute, but no change, I still receive the Unknown User error.

Grab the LDAP browser from here:
Softerra LDAP Administrator & Browser: Directory Management Tool for Windows
and point it at your DC. You should be able to work out what the Base DN is for your user accounts. Once you've found that out open the properties of a user account and you'll see all the user account attributes. Correct as nessercry.
If the above doesn't help you might have an authentication issue. Either the user account/password MRBS is using is wrong/inssufficent permissions. Or your DC might require you to access LDAP via SSL/TLS. But basically if you can get the LDAP browser working with the same settings as MRBS you should be good to go.

Thank you so much Geoff. I used the tool to get the correct LDAP values and I didn't have the search stuff in there. It's working beautifully now!
