Morning Folks
Right, as my IT support moves more into the remote support spectrum of things and ad hoc support for some organisations that I work with in other areas, I'm looking into the various remote support packages (LogMeIn, ISLOnline, etc) and wondering what others use and why they are so good, and which would people recommend etc.
It needs to have the ability to run from a Mac (as I'm a Mac Boy, though I do have a Windows VM and various windows / linux machines knocking about, much to my wife's dismay) and also needs to have the ability to support multiple platforms (so Windows, Mac, Linux, etc) as I don't want to be limited in the support I'm able to offer.
Thanks all
Andy

25th September 2012, 12:28 PM #2 Currently using Team Viewer. It is a one of payment and you can connect to as many servers / clients as needed (no limit). They offer apps for all the major phones / pads. They also offer with the package an add hoc remote system so even if the client does not have the software installed you can still connect.

25th September 2012, 12:38 PM #4 Depends on your needs, if you want to connect online to anybody that may ring up and want help, http://join.me is brilliant!
If you want to connect to machines online when the user is AFK, the normal version of logmein is pretty good. If it is solely in a LAN environment you wont need anything as technical and ideally which doesn't rely on internet access.
We use Microsoft Remote assistance for all windows clients, obviously doesn't really suit your needs, a simple VNC solution may do the trick?

Oops .. sorry ..
Though it is for remote access, not over the LAN access (that's easy, VNC, iTalc, RDP etc..

25th September 2012, 01:14 PM #6 TeamViewer looks good, as does Join Me. Thanks for those.
It is about support for when a user is by their machine. If I'm needing to support machines whilst the user is AFK, then this would be a more corporate support package where I'd have VPN routes set up, etc.
In terms of on site support, I tend to make use of VNC or RDP, depending upon the requirements.
