I've got a Desire HD and Transparent Proxy didn't work :(
@sted: where are you getting the info that Samsung will release an update in the next month? If it's actually Samsung releasing it, you can add at least another month to that while your network provider adds their crud to it, if they release it at all...
I've had G'bread on my GT540 for about 6-8 weeks.....Best thing I've done to it.
Also, the chances of actually "bricking" your phone are pretty slim. You may get a boot loop, or some other such problem, but completely bricking it is very difficult!
(That's only MY opinion, and I do not wish to be held responsible for someone trying a ROM AND bricking their phone!!!)
I've made my phone even faster today by using SD Increase!
well i got bored and flashed it to 2.3 earlier and apart from it not wanting to install angry birds(fixed) and after redoing looking at address book and assuming names had numbers not just e-mail but after a few mins exporting from oytlook im back up and running and it does seem faster now. All i need is to remember where i put my backdrop lol gps is still about as much use as a chocolate teapot though lol
AFAIK there's problems with the main Gingerbread update code from google causing GPS issues. I'm finding if I run up GPS Status app, wait till aqquires 5 sats and then close it and open up my own GPS speed app it them works OK. But sometimes I need to open/close GPS status itself a few times :)Quote:

If you want reliable, then 2.2 ROMs are still the way to go (or maybe older Gingerbread versions that didn't seem to have the problem)
A .1 in android is important
Are you saying your GPS didn't work well with original ROM outdoors?Quote:

As up until recent Gingerbread updates, GPS reliability has never been an issue on 'droids so you probably have a physically duff phone :(
try out GPS Status app and see what it gives you[/edit]
ah damn it wont send/receive texts now just crashes the app
I've just updated my Desire HD to Gingerbread and I've got an integrated proxy tool. Works fine too, well on the browser at least.
