My brother has one of those pesky iPhones that when connected to the wireless internet at home seems to kill the network and he says nothing is been used on it. Now when I turn its wireless off it stops using so something is but I don't know what. I don't know iPhones well enough to start poking through it - anyone any recommendations?
Also he eats his way through 1Gb a month 3G wise where as I hardly touch 500Mb and I use mine loads as a hotspot for my laptop.

30th July 2012, 09:33 PM #2 Is it jail broken? I'd go for a restore (as a new phone) make sure everything is backed up in itunes first. It'll prob be a rogue app he's installed so I'd just sync each app back to the phone one by one until you find it happens again. I've known a rogue app to download 100mb of data every day at 1.00am he was wondering why he reach his data limit after 5 days every month

Try double tapping the home button, which will show open apps across the bottom of the screen. Press and hold to allow you to terminate an app. That way you can see if there's a specific app that's causing the problem by monitoring the fault at the same time.

31st July 2012, 11:00 AM #9 Sounds most likely.
I get through between 2-3GB most months on my android as all my stuff is automagically backed up onto Google/Dropbox. If I turn it off I use around 1GB...

31st July 2012, 06:42 PM #10 It would appear it is this. Can the data be synced to the cloud over 3G or does it just do it on WiFi?
