After reading AnandTech's mini review, it looks like Asus and Google have done a really good job designing the Nexus 7.

According to Appy Geek the Americans will be paying roughly around £128 for the 8GB model whereas UK punters will pay £159 which is around about the price Americans will pay for the 16GB version ($249). £199 for UK.

    Typically we pay more!!

Nah, the price they list in the US is not the price they end up paying a lot of the time. They have to also pay whatever sales taxes are in place to do so.

The price difference for us is usually down to import duties and VAT.

$249 is approximately £160, add VAT that makes it
£192, plus there will be some import duty so £199 is pretty much equivalent to the US price.

That's huge! It's cheap enough for an impulse purchase @ tesco's - no point in amazon releasing the fire in the Uk now!

It certainly is! Just pre-ordered mine

Had a look at some of the other tablets but for the price/spec nothing comes even remotely close. The lack of SD card slot is annoying but given it's my first forray into the android ecosystem I hopefully wont miss it too much.

I'm glad I didn't buy a Blackberry PlayBook a couple of weeks ago. This seems like a much more sensible option to go for!

Hmmm £159 + £9.99 delivery for the 8GB from Google or £199 inc free delivery for the 16GB from Ebuyer, which one should I buy?
