I managed to get SWGfL to re-look at the firewall changes they made and tested it yesterday and got a test iPAD to "check-in".
However I've tried again today and can't get it or any others to "check-in" today
Sounds like Meraki is a bit unreliable.
Has anyone found a way or know how to purchase apps through the new educational Volume licence method from Apple and then push out using Meraki? At the moment cant seem to push anything out unless I locate it on the Meraki search and download function.
EDIT found out how to do it here http://www.meraki.com/blog/2012/07/d...-3-easy-steps/
cant search for apps at the moment though using their interface, anyone else having issues?

Interface seems hung up at the moment.
We're using the aplle VPP but we want to retain ownership of the apps/books we purchase. The only way to do this, apparently, is to use the profile manager to check in and out the devices - retaining the codes to us, but allowing the users to log in with their own id's and download their individual apps.
The downside is that you can only have the device managed by one MDM (so we're told) and means we have to ditch meraki.
We can issue redemption codes for paid apps, but once they're issued, we cant get them back and issue to a.n.other.

To all SWGFL Maraki Users:
Has anyone managed to resolve the issue with Meraki and IOS through SWGFL please and if so, how? Would love to use Meraki but getting the same issues as reported here, devices wont connect. It all works fine as soon as out of our network.
Been a silent reader for a while but finally registered! So first post.
Its pretty much my full time job working with apple in education so I know my fair share about iPads and MDM software especially in schools. What I think it will be is that there not connecting to apples APN severs. (Apple push notification) Check that ports TCP 5223 2195 2196 443 are open and then I believe it should work! Hope this helps guys.
Thanks for the reply Adam - those ports are open but apparently Meraki wont work with a non-transparent proxy. Can anyone confirm this?
Hmmm okay. I have no expire nice with this software but for a free mdm for a small amount of iPads I recommend https://simple.unwiredmdm.com/

Thanks glannda I may have to.
Getting similar results with adams suggestion - the ipad enrolls OK but no info and cant carry out any actions etc
Did anyone manage to get to the bottom of this or is it a non-starter with a non transparent solution? I too can get the devices to enroll fine but synchronization will not finish and no config can be made remotely.
Hmmm glad I found this, I have tried the Android route and come across the same problem registereing the tablets, take it off the school wifi and works fine. I was provided with the same ip, port info which was set to be allowed in our server firewall but no change. A pity as I would really like this to work. Do we have a definitive answer on getting the android or IOS (which is my next step) to work through a school Wifi using a proxy address?
Hi has anyone managed to get Meraki MDM to work when device is connected to a proxy network? I am trying to set this up for Ipads and managed to enrol and push out apps on a home wifi connection but as soon as the device is behind a proxy it will not check in with the server. Im not 100% sure whether it is a proxy based problem or filtering/port issue.
