Our music department are about to buy two ipads to help them deliver lessons in lessons but they would like to wirelessly broadcast the ipad's display on to their whiteboard.
I'm sure some edugeekers have already done this so I am turning to you for advice!
Thanks

23rd April 2012, 09:01 AM #3 I found an app which allows you to setup an air play server on mac workstation so you could have your normal workstation displaying via the projector with your iPad streaming to it.
AirServer - Bring full AirPlay and AirTunes to your Mac
This is another way if you were not to have HDMI on your projectors and you may not want to buy VGA to HDMI converters.

23rd April 2012, 09:03 AM #4 I see a problem here. The projector we have does not have audio. The classroom has an amp connected to the teacher's pc. This is going to be a wiring nightmare!

23rd April 2012, 09:10 AM #5 I am in the same situation. I want to deploy AppleTV to all our class rooms for our iPad deployment but I would also need to buy a HDMI converter. I do have dual inputs on my amps so thats not such an issue.

The Wikipedia page on AirPlay has a list of implementations:
AirPlay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Listed on there is XBMC, which of course works on the Raspberry Pi - you could potentially sit a Raspberry Pi on the ceiling with the projector, making for a nice self-contained solution.

Solution I've used for Schools I work with is just by getting a konig adapter box which will then work through the vga input on the over priced and under used smart boards.
